What we do

Our programs and activities are catalogued into five (5) strategic directions as follows:

  1. Strengthening research at the University and at National level
  2. Promoting Policy formulation, implementation and evaluation
  3. Strengthening Institutional Capacity Building, Effectiveness and Sustainability
  4. Promoting Peace, Security and Gender Equality
  5. Building partnership and collaboration with National and international bodies

Public Affairs Programs:  The following public affairs program constitutes a major part of the Institute’s activities:

The Policy Studies Series:  Under the series, various speakers are invited to speak on an assortment of policy issues.

The Policy Studies Roundtable: Organized in the form of a panel discussion, The Policy Roundtable provides a forum for individuals with expertise in various policy areas to share their expertise. It is held once a month and focuses on a particular policy issue.

The Annual Policy Studies Research Conference:  Each year, a policy research conference is held for the purpose of providing an arena in which diverse views can be exchanged on variety of policy issues. Conference participants are drawn from Liberia, the Mano River Basin, West Africa, and the African Continent in General. Efforts are made to host this conference in one of the sub-region’s capitols where research will be discussed and topics for future research negotiated. Government policy makers and international observers are strongly encouraged to attend.

The Leadership Program provides short term specialized training in policy analysis, leadership and development, etc., as a means of building capacity and enhancing skills of policy makers. Organize and administer Internship Programs for graduate students
